Why should we visit the South Shore rather than the famous North Shore?
You should definitely visit the North Shore where you will find Anne of Green Gables and a variety of amusement parks. The North Shore is less than 30 minutes away, however, the North Shore beaches are not the red beaches that you see featured on all the famous PEI panoramic views. The water on the North Shore is the Atlantic Ocean and is generally colder and rougher than the more protected, smaller body of water on the South Shore, the Northumberland Strait.
